1Chronicles lists the genealogy from Adam to David to Jesus, naming families, family members and the gatekeepers, the priests, the musicians, the singers, the treasurers, the king’s overseers, etc. Each person played a part in history…as do each of us.

The image of a tree helped me to see that the people listed in this book are my ancestors as well. Adam, David and Jesus are a part of my roots. It’s an amazing reality that we are a part of a faith community which has existed from generation to generation since the dawn of man.

Do you see the names “Adam”, “David” and “Jesus” in the root system? And up in the tree branches, the words “Me” and “You”?
