Solomon wrote this book to spare future generations the bitterness of learning through their own experiences that life is meaningless apart from God. Because we were created in God’s image, we have a spiritual thirst. Therefore, nothing but God can satisfy us. If the person in this painting would stop looking back at earthly matters and turn his head, he would be looking into the glory of God!
